Lisbon, Portugal, 22 Nov – TNT Express, the express business to business (B2B) delivery company (B2B), said Monday that from 2006 it will provide a link between Europe and China using two Boeing 747 400 ERF airplanes.

The planes, with a load capacity of 100 tons each, will be leased for a 10 year period and go into service in November 2006 and June 2007. One of the airplanes is scheduled to do four routes per week between Shanghai and Europe. The other airplane will increase the flights to nine per week.

Two years ago TNT launched its IDE (Integrated Direct Express) service between China and Europe, to deal with the rapid growth of the technology sector.

With the new airplanes TNT will be able to transport 1000 to 1250 tons of cargo to China from Europe every week.
