Macau’s GDP set to increase 8 to 9% in 2006

Macau, China, 29 Nov – The president of the association of Macau banks (ABM), Zhang Hongyi, said Monday that Macau’s Gross Domestic Product (GDP) would increase by 8 to 9% in 2006.

Zhang Hongyi, general manager of the Macau branch of the Bank of China (BOC), said he was optimistic about the future development of the Macau economy as well as about the future of the local banking sector.

The BOC general manager made the prediction during a reception to mark the 20th anniversary of the banking association, which has 27 banks as members. (macauhub)
