Consumer prices in Luanda rise by 19%

Luanda, Angola, 14 Dec – Consumer prices in the Angolan capital of Luanda rose 18.98 percent between November 2004 and November 2005, Angola’s National Statistic Institute (INE) said Tuesday.

INE added that the year-on-year change in prices showed a fall of 0.82 percentage points in relation to the 19.80 percent increase recorded last October.

Prices in Luanda increased 1.19 percent between October and November of this year, INE said.

Food and Non-Alcoholic Beverages recorded the greatest price increase with 1.81 percent. Increases were also recorded in Clothing and Footwear (1.53 percent), Alcoholic Beverages and Tobacco (1.41 percent) and Leisure, Recreation and Culture (1.23 percent), according to INE’s figures.(macauhub)
