New cement factory in Lobito, Angola to cost US$80 million

Benguela, Angola, 27 Feb – Cement company Secil-Lobito is set to invest US$80 million on building a new cement factory, one of the company’s directors Victor Rodrigues, said in Lobito at the weekend.

The new factory, which will begin to be built next June, will have a production capacity of 600,000 tons per year and plans to provide for demand in the province as well as Angola’s central region.

Secil-Lobito’s current production is 250,000 tons per year.

The cement company’s board of directors also plans to set up a new clinker oven in order to provide its own raw material for producing cement rather than importing it (macauhub)
