Luanda, Angola, 21 March – The national road linking the Angolan city of Mbanza-Congo (formerly São Salvador), next to the northern border of Angola, to the country’s capital, Luanda will begin to be rebuilt this month, the provincial director of Public Works, Silvano Daniel Tabita, said Monday.
Speaking to the press Tabita said that the project is part of the Central Government program which aims to rebuild the main road links in Angola, under the scope of the credit line granted by China for that purpose.
Over the last few years China has provided Angola with loans totaling US$2.3 billion for reconstruction projects.
Tabita also said that the program also included the recovery of the stretch of road between the municipal area of Nzeto to Soyo, passing through the area of Kinzau (Tomboco).
The public Works Ministry is finalizing preparations to analyze the estimated cost for these projects, which will be followed by the launch of their respective public tenders. (macauhub)
