Maputo, Mozambique, 15 May – The Mozambican tourism sector is expected to net 96 million euros this year against 84 million euros in 2005, accounting for 2.4 percent of the country’s gross domestic product (GDP), according to figures released Friday in Maputo.
The projections were presented during the fifth Maputo Tourism Fair, an event which was attended by around 100 foreign and national tourist operators, and which ended Sunday.
According to the director for Mozambican Tourism Promotion, Huiana Abacar, in the last few years the country has had “significant growth” in terms of revenue and investment.
For the first time this year Swaziland took part in Mozambique’s Tourism Fair. (macauhub)
