Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, 01 June – Chinese telecom company ZTE is due to present its most recent services and applications for personalizing telephone calls in Rio de Janeiro Thursday.

As part of a world tour by ZTE, which includes visits to countries such as Greece, South Africa, Russia and France, the company will present services such as pay as you go and short message services (SMS) for mobile telephones.

In the Brazilian market, ZTE will focus its attention on its Colour Ring Back Tone (CRBT) products, which ahs already been adopted by 60 companies, the company’s director for South America, Wang Shouchen, said.

“This type of product is attracting an increasing number of users, for the richness of possibilities it offers for the personalization of ring tones,” Wang added.

With the CRBT service, the user may configure the sound heard by each person or group of people when they receive a call, in place of the traditional mobile phone ring tone.

CRBT also allows companies to increase their promotional, publicity and branding campaigns via use of ring tones, Wang said.

ZTE is a global leader in supplying telecommunications equipment and network solutions and is present in over 100 countries.

In Brazil, ZTE is one of the companies to supply mobile phone equipment to Vico, a joint venture between Portugal Telecom and Spain’s Telefónica Móviles.
