Chinese company wins tender to build road bridge in Angola

Luanda, Angola, 28 June – Chinese state company, China Road and Bridge Corp. (CRBC) has won the tender to build a concrete bridge over the River Dande in Angola, Angolan news agency Angpop reported Tuesday.

The bridge, which will be over 100 meters long, will be built alongside the current metal bridge and will have a capacity of over 60 tons and be 12 meters wide.

Work on the bridge’s foundations began on June 11, last.

As well as this bridge there are three more being rebuilt as part of the project for rebuilding the Kifangondo (Luanda)/Caxito/Uíge/Negage national road.

The tender for the rebuilding of the 371-kilometer road was also won by the China Road and Bridge Corp.

Since the beginning of the work, 140 kilometers have been de-mined.

At a cost of US$211 million, the road is scheduled to be open to the public in June 2008. (macauhub)
