Luanda, Angola, 10 July – The 23rd Luanda International Fair (FILDA) from 26-30 July will have 117 companies from Portugal in keeping with the tradition of Lisbon having the largest overseas representation at the event, officials have said.
The Portugal pavilion at FILDA 2006 is a joint initiative by the ICEP exports agency, the Portuguese Business Association (AEP) and the Portuguese Industrial Association (AIP) and companies from various sectors will be represented, particularly construction, industrial equipment and food products.
Some 117 firms from Portugal, two more than 2005, give Portuguese entrepreneurs the largest international presence at the Luanda trade fair, with 25 industrial equipment firms, 23 from the building equipment and materials sector and 17 companies from the energy, electrical, electronic and software sectors being represented.
Around 600 exhibitors are booked for this year’s FILDA, with about 400 of these being Angolan firms and the rest from 20 other nations including China, Brazil, Germany, South Africa and the United States.
Argentina and Ukraine are taking part in the event for the first time.
FILDA 2006 will be the largest to date, despite a lawsuit involving the organizing company, Expo Angola. (macauhub)
