17 July 2006

Lisbon, Portugal, 17 July – Portuguese human resources company Multipessoal will begin operating in the Cape Verde market as of October, in partnership with airport company ASA – Empresa Nacional de Aeroportos

Afonso Baptista, chairman fo Multipessoal, told Portuguese financial daily Diário Económico that the company’s long term aim, is to carry out human resources management activities for the Cape Verdean state.

“There is a great lack of staff for mid management in Cape Verde,” and the partnership with ASA, “is a good sign that the authorities have confidence” in the company’s capacities, Baptista said.

Multipessoal Cabo Verde will be 75 percent owned by the Portuguese company and the remaining capital will be in the hands of ASA.

The partnership agreement was signed at the beginning of the month, and the company is expected to be fully set up by October, the Portuguese manager said.

Initially, the subsidiary will focus on management and training in the hotel sector, but the aim is to expand activity to other public services.

Multipessoal had a project to set up in Angola, but according to Baptista, this did not go ahead due to the “risks” and “investment” associated to it. (macauhub)
