Luanda, Angola, 17 July – Fifteen German companies are due to take part in the 23rd edition of the I Luanda International Fair (Filda), to be held between July 36 and 30, at the Expo-Angola exhibition center, the secretary of the German embassy in Angola said Saturday.
Speaking to Angolan news agency Angpop, Hans-Ulrich Von said that Germany would take part in the event with companies mainly linked to machine construction, transport, telecommunications, and civil engineering, amongst others.
In 2005, Germany took part in the event with the same number of companies.
Von said that Germany could make a significant contribution to creating heavy industry in Angola, as the Germans had vast experience in building machinery which support the creation of other factory units.
For the Germans, he said, Filda was a starting point for setting up long term business partnerships, as Angola had potential for development.
Germany, which has been at Filda six times, already has a significant presence in the Angolan market , particularly Siemens, which is linked to telecommunications and Ferrostaal, which is involved in the construction of factories and metal structures, as well as Gauff Gmbh&Co from the civil engineering sector.
