Macau, China, 01 Aug-The number of commercial flights at Macau airport reached 23,387 in the January to June period, a year-on-year increase of 13%, according to data released Monday by the Macau Statistics and Census Bureau.
The route between Macau and Taiwan represented around 48 percent of the flights, while the route between Macau and continental China represented 35 percent.
In the first half of 2006, 41,784 metric tons of goods were exported through the Macau airport, which represented an increase of 2 percent against the same period of 2005.
Imports came to 12,715 metric tons, a 4% percent decrease against the first half of 2005.
Cargo in transit at the airport reached 52,967 metric tons, a 26 percent rise when compared to the same period the previous year. (macauhub)
