Luanda, Angola, 08 Aug – The coffee sector supply company Procafé plans to buy 2,000 tons of coffee from producers this year, significantly more than the 400 tons acquired in 2005, a top company official said Tuesday in Luanda.
The purchase of 2,000 tons of coffee is part of the company’s coffee commercialisation program for this year, said company director general Romualdo Traça Dias dos Santos, quoted by the Angolan news agency Angop.
The program is split among four provices (Bengo, Uije, North Kwanza and South Kwanza) where the company operates and will involve a total of more than 93 million kwanzas (US$1.04 million), of which 81 million kwanzas (US$910,000) will be used to acquire the coffee.
The Angolan firm Procafé was founded in 1975. (macauhub)
