Portugal’s average inflation rises to 2.8 pct in July and year on year falls to 2.3 pct

Lisbon, Portugal, 15 Aug – The annual average inflation rate in Portugal rose 0.1 percentage points in July, to 2.8 percent, the Portuguese National Statistics Institute (INE) said Monday in Lisbon.

The year on year inflation rate settled at 2.3 percent, or 0.6 percentage points below the figure for the previous month.

Prices fell 0.2 percent in July against the previous month, INE said.

Transport was the category that showed the most significant year on year change (6.1 percent), and accounted for 30 percent of the variation in the overall consumer price index (CPI). (macauhub)
