Maputo, Mozambique, 28 Aug – Thirty-two Chinese companies are going to exhibit their products starting Tuesday, September 2, in Maputo, “in response to the growing demand by Mozambicans for Chinese goods,” said the economic advisor of the Chinese embassy in Maputo.
The Chinese merchandise fair in Maputo, organized by the Ministry of Commerce of China, will have companies that manufacture electrical appliances, motorcycles, auto parts and textiles.
Also on exhibit will be companies that produce electromechanical products, agricultural machinery and packaging equipment.
Chen Chang He, the economic advisor of the Chinese embassy in Maputo, said in a press conference about the event that the fair shows the interest of the government and Chinese companies in responding to Mozambican consumers’ attraction for Chinese products.
The economic advisor of the Chinese embassy was optimistic on the outcome of the fair, noting that some companies taking part “will be not hesitate to definitively establish themselves in the Mozambican market, due to the positive business environment that exists in the country”.
Chen Chang He also said that 22 Chinese companies already operate in Mozambique, and the presence of these companies in the country may motivate fair exhibitors, starting August 29. (macauhub)
