Macau, China, 04 Sept – The results of Forum Macau show that the territory is truly a bridge between mainland China and Portuguese-speaking countries, Macau’s secretary for the Economy and Finance, Francis Tam told Macau magazine in an interview.
Tam added that the results of the Forum, which were “clear to everyone” were more important than the Forum’s boosting visibility due to its being headquartered in Macau.
“We have always said that we are a platform and the results of that affirmation are clear to everybody as China has a closer relationship with Portuguese-speaking countries,” he said.
The fact that the Macau International Fair (MIF) was taking place this year at the same time as the Forum, on September 24 and 25, was also important, he said, as large delegations from mainland China were travelling to Macau.
Tam said that a lot of work was being carried out for the 2nd edition of the Forum and the China’s Trade Minister, Bo Xilao, “is working on something for the success of the Forum.” (macauhub)
