Luanda, Angola, 18 Sept – Organizers of the first International Tourism and Culture Fair (FITEC), which ran from Thursday to Sunday, say they have fulfilled their main goals of successfully holding the event and creating conditions for it to be held again.
“The initial work is done and from here it is necessary for all sectors involved to work for the next event to be even better”, said Filomena Olivieira, a member of the FITEC organizing committee, adding the Luanda fair had showcased the significant promotional work being undertaken by the tourism sector and other industries.
FITEC was jointly organized by Central de Ideias and Expo-Angola and was backed by Luanda’s ministries of culture and tourism, provincial governments and other bodies connected to the two sectors.
Around 100 companies and organizations attended the event, which was visited daily by only between 50 to 80 people on its maiden edition. (macauhub)
