Angola’s ATMs carried out transactions of over US$37 million by August

Angola, Luanda, 03 Oct – The 240 automatic teller machines (ATM) installed at banking and retail outlets in Angola had total transactions of over US$37 million by August, according to banking services company Emis.

Speaking to newspaper Jornal de Angola, Emis’ director of technology Eduardo Pinto said that by the end of last August the company had also issued 462,876 cards.

As is the case with other services, Luanda has 80 percent of the installed network, which contributed, according to Pinto to a monthly total of 800,000 transactions and the company forecasts that by the end of the year this figure will rise to 1 million transactions.

Emis, the company in charge of issuing ATM cards, provides it services to almost the entire country through banks, shopping centers and other companies. (macauhub)
