Bissau, Guinea Bissau, 03 Oct – A delegation of seven Brazilian experts linked to cooperation began a number of meetings with Guinean authorities Monday in Bissau to analyze projects in the training and education, economics and Agro-industry sectors, officials said.
Speaking to Portuguese news agency Lusa, Magda Coelho, advisor for the Brazilian Ministry of Education, said that Brasilia was “focused” on cooperation with Guinea Bissau and that, to that end, the Brazilian Cooperation Agency (ABC) was in Bissau to verify which types of cooperation should be boosted.
For now, Coelho said, the creation of a service to support small and medium-sized enterprises (SME), whose success had been “high” in Brazil and the model of which had already been exported with “some success” to East Timor and Saudi Arabia.
“It is a project that the [Guinean] Economy Minister, Issufo Sanhá already knows about, as he was involved in it in Brazil, and which is aimed at creating jobs, increasing production and generating revenue,” Coelho said.
As well as ABC, the Department of Promotion and Diffusion of the Portuguese Language. a body that is run by the Brazilian Foreign Ministry, Education Ministry and Brazilian University, is also currently in the Guinean capital
During its stay, which ends Friday, the delegation will meet with Issufo Sanhá and Tcherno Djaló and carry out working visits to several primary and university education facilities. (macauhub)
