10 October 2006

Beijing, China, 10 Oct – China will have the world’s highest growth rate in production in the next 20 years, the president of the World Productivity Confederation, Jean-Claude Lauzon said Monday in Beijing.

In an interview with Chinese news agency Xinhua for the 14th World productivity Congress held in Shenyang, Lauzon said that China had considerable advantages, particularly in terms of human resources.

China has attracted large levels of foreign direct investment and many foreign companies have transferred their production and research centers to the country.

“World productivity will be greatly improved thanks to Chinese inventions, particularly if China manages to reduce pollution and energy consumption,” he said.

The Confederation’s congress, which began Monday, is held every two years and this year has had the support of the Chinese Science of Productivity Association and the government of the city of Shenyang, capital of Liaoning province. (macauhub)
