Toulouse, France, 11 Oct – Cape Verdean air carrier TACV Tuesday signed an agreement in Toulouse to buy three aircraft from European manufacturer ATR for a total of US$50 million, ATR said in a statement.
The contract, signed at ATR’s Toulouse headquarters, is for a 42-500 model and two 72-500s, ATR said.
Transportes Aéreos de Cabo Verde will take delivery of the first aircraft in April 2007, while the second will arrive in June and the third in October.
TACV currently has three ATR 42-300s and two Boeing 757-200-ERs.
Since the beginning of the year, ATR has received orders for 57 aircraft, of which a fifth will go to companies operating in Africa.
