Maputo, Mozambique, 23 Oct – Mozambique and China have established the basic principles for scientific and technical cooperation, the Mozambican minister of Science and Technology, Venâncio Massingue, said in Maputo Friday.

The minister, who had returned to Maputo after a working visit to China where he tried to establish partnerships for science and technology, told Mozambican news agency AIM that a delegation of Chinese technicians would arrive in Mozambique in November.

“That delegation will come to Mozambique to survey the sector in order to facilitate the establishment of cooperation programs,” Massingue said.

According to the minister the aim is to establish scientific research laboratories and the use of existing technologies to introduce wind and solar power generation to rural areas.

China and Mozambique, according to Massingue, also plan to cooperate in the medicinal plant sector as Mozambique has some of those plants and China is known for their use in traditional medicine. (macauhub)
