Beijing, China, 07 Nov – China plans to have reciprocal cooperation with Cape Verde in the naval, communications, services and tourism sectors, the Chinese prime minister Wei Jiabao said in Beijing Monday.

“These industries are crucial for the economic development of Cape Verde and China has advantages in these sectors,” Wen told his Cape Verdean counterpart José Maria das Neves.

Although they are far from one another, the two countries have had close cooperative relations, he said.

He added that over the years, China had built more than 10 projects in Cape Verde including a dam and a library that had provided economic and social benefits.

Cape Verde’s prime minister said that he had been inspired by China’s new measures for supporting Africa and added that Cape Verde planned to use its geographic advantage to have a unique role in promoting China-Africa cooperation.

Neves arrived in Beijing Friday to take part in the Forum for China-Africa Cooperation (FOCAC), held Saturday and Sunday in Beijing. (macauhub)
