Fifteen Cape Verdeans take part in Guinea Bissau/Cape Verde “Business and Investment Days”

Bissau, Guinea Bissau, 30 Nov – The first Guinea Bissau/Cape Verde “Business and Investment Days” will be attended by 15 Cape Verdean businesspeople, the deputy president of Guinea Bissau’s Chamber of Commerce and Industry said Wednesday in Bissau.

Speaking to journalists, Lima Gomes said that the aim of the event was to boost the weak bilateral business climate between the two countries and improve it in terms of relations between institutions.

The meeting, to be held between December 2 and 5, is also being organized by the Cape Verdean Sotavento Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCISS), aims to increase Guinea Bissau’s exports to the Cape Verdean archipelago, particularly products such as vegetables, meat and fish.

Gomes added that the two Chambers of Commerce were working to develop a project to set up a shipping line between the capital of Cape Verde, Praia and Bissau.

Calling on Guinean businesspeople to take part in the event, Gomes noted that Cape Verde was pone of the focuses of the internationalization drive of the Guinean economy, due to the country’s potential in terms of agriculture, fishing and tourism.

According to Gomes, the Cape Verdean businesspeople taking part are from sectors such as hotels, tourism, information technology and real estate, services and retail. (macauhub)
