Mozambican government approves budget for 2007 Census

Maputo, Mozambique, 11 Jan – The Coordinating Council for the General Population Census and Housing (CCRGPH) of Mozambique Wednesday approved the budget for the 2007 Census totaling US$34 million, Mozambican news agency AIM reported.

According to the national Statistics Institute (INE), the budget for the census was approved during the fourth meeting of the CCRGPH, headed by Prime Minister Luisa Diogo on December 26.

At that meeting, the Coordinating Council also approved the final version of the census questionnaire, with the introduction of a few improvements arising from the pilot census carried out in October last year.

The pilot census covered over 400,000 people in 100,000 family units. (macauhub)
