Maputo, Mozambique, 18 Jan – Two hotels in the Mozambican capital of Maputo – the Terminus and the Monte Carlo – have been sold by the Brithol Michcoma group for a undisclosed figure, the Mozambican press reported Wednesday.
The buyer of the two hotel units, located in high-class areas of the city, was the Ayob Comercial group.
The secrecy that surrounded the sale of the two hotels was explained by a lawyer for Brithol Michcoma, Rui Rocha as a need to preserve “confidential information” about a private business deal.
Rocha denied that the sale had been carried out due to financial difficulties at the two hotels and said it had merely been “a business opportunity that came up.”
The Brithol group has interests in several areas in Mozambique including car rental and hotels, amongst others. (macauhub)
