Beijing, China, 18 Jan – Trade between mainland China and Taiwan reached a record figure of US$107.8 billion in 2006, the spokesperson for Office of Taiwan Affairs, Yang Yi said Wednesday in Beijing.
This is the first time that two-way trade has exceeded US$100 billion, Yang said adding that trade had risen by 18.2 percent year on year.
Exports from the mainland to Taiwan totalled US$20.74 billion, or a 25.3 percent rise year on year, and imports totaled S$87.11 billion, or a 16.6 percent rise. (macauhub)
