Angola’s airline to open flight between Luanda, Sao Tome and Lisbon in February

Luanda, Angola, 1 Feb – Angolan national air carrier, TAAG, will begin operating a route linking Luanda, Sao Tome and Lisbon under the terms of an agreement signed with Sao Tome and Principe airline, STP Airways.

According to Angolan news agency Angop, citing a statement from TAAG, the inaugural ceremony is due to take place in the capital of Sao Tome and Principe as soon as the aircraft lands for the first time.

The flight will run twice a week (Monday and Friday), with departures from Luanda at 7 pm and arrival on the Sao Tome archipelago at 8.45 pm, and flying onward to Lisbon at 4.45 am the next day.

A Boeing 737-700 aircraft will be used on the route, with capacity to carry 120 passengers, 12 of which in executive class and 108 in economy.

The route scheduled to be operated by TAAG, was for a few years flown by Portuguese airline, Air Luxor, which has since stopped flying altogether. (macauhub)
