Luanda, Angola, 5 March – Eleven hotels of between three and five-star quality are to be built in Angola at a total investment of over US$575 million, the national director of Hotel and Tourism training, Amélia Carlos Kazalma said Friday in Luanda.

Quoted by daily newspaper, Jornal de Angola, Kazalma said that the hotels, construction of which was due to begin this year, would add 443 rooms to Angola’s hotel accommodation and employ over 1,000 people.

Construction of the hotels is the responsibility of companies such as Sivol, Sistec, AAA International, Teixeira Duarte and Consar.

During a meeting on national reconstruction and professional training, Kazalma said that Angola currently had 130 hotels, 547 inns and 60 miscellaneous units, such as apartment hotels, tourist villages, motels and hostelries, which employed 45,000 people.

Hotel availability in Luanda is reduced and the few hotels that there are, are always full, mainly of businesspeople on business in the country. (macauhub)
