Chinese firm to rebuild transport, power networks in Angolan city

Dundo, Angola, 23 April – Transport and electricity distribution networks in the city of Dundo, provincial capital of Lunda Norte, are to be modernized in a project beginning later this year by China Machine-Building International, an Angolan official has said.

The project, whose costs have not been disclosed, is being funded by a credit line from China’s Eximbank and work will begin after an initial study is completed. The rebuilding work is expected to take around two years, a provincial official was cited as saying by state news agency Angop.

The director general of the Chinese company involved in the project is currently in Lunda Norte for talks with local officials on the building of two 15 KV power transmission lines and the installation of two new transformer sets, Angop also reported. (macauhub)
