Benguela, Angola, 26 April – Angolan company Propar and Portugal’s Mota-Engil plan to invest over US$500 million in construction of a housing project called Salinas Village, in the city of Benguela, Angolan news agency Angop reported.
The project, which will house up to 3,000 people, was presented Wednesday by architectural company Central Arquitectos from Braga, Portugal, and includes 10 types of housing.
Construction work for Salinas Village is the responsibility of Mota-Engil and covers an area of 64 hectares, including social facilities such as medical centers, police stations, administration, shopping centers and business centers, public parking, schools and games fields.
Speaking to journalists, the Chairman of Propar, Vicente Leitao said that financing solutions for buying the homes would be presented.
He added that, after the project was concluded, other similar ones would be built in the province and, depending on the market, could possibly be built in other areas of Angola. (macauhub)
