Sao Paulo, Brazil, 27 April – The battle for the Argentinean household electrical appliances market, which is an area of strong competition between Brazilian and Chinese products, was lost by Brazil in the first two months of 2007, Brazilian newspaper Global reported in Sao Paulo.
According to the paper, in the period under review Chinese companies got 43.6 percent of the Argentinean household electrical appliances market while Brazil’s share was just 23.7 percent.
A report from consulting company Investigações Económicas Sectoriais showed that, if electrical appliances exported by Hong Kong were included, China’s market share rose to 48.7 percent.
In 2006, China gained a market share of 36.2 percent of electrical appliances imported by Argentina whilst Brazilian products led the market with 38.8 percent. (macauhub)
