Luanda, Angola, 8 May – The third edition of the International Food and Drinks Fair “Alimentícia Angola,” ended Sunday in Luanda with turnover of around US$5 million, according to the organization’s final summary of the event.
The event, which reached its objectives in terms of exhibitors with the participation of 130 companies, did not meet expectation in terms of actual business deals done.
According to Angolan news agency Angop, the organizers of Alimenticia said that difficulty accessing the location of the fair was one of the main reasons for the low number of commercial partnerships set up.
“For next year we are going to work for Alimenticia to be a greater success, with innovative services, a higher number of companies and other attractions, to try to recover and exceed the turnover of the last editions by a total of US$100 million,” said Bruno Albernaz, of Arena-Direct the event’s promoter.
This edition had the same number of companies taking part as the last (130). But had four fewer regional representations, with Kwanza Norte the only region at the event.
The fair, which is an annual event, is organized by Arena Direct, FILDA and the Angolan National Directorate for Internal Trade. (macauhub)
