Luanda, Angola, 17 May – Angola’s Gross Domestic Product expanded in real terms by 89.6 pct between 2002 and 2006, according to report on the implementation of the general government program approved Wednesday by the Angolan cabinet.
A statement released after the cabinet meeting said agriculture, manufacturing industry and commercial services were the sectors of Angola’s economy where growth had been “much higher than planned.”
The official report said that despite a 4 percent fall in 2005, Angola’s unemployment rate remained at 25.2 percent.
Angola’s annual inflation in December 2006 stood at 12.2 percent, down 6.3 percent from the previous year. (macauhub)
