New commercial licensing system put in place in Angola in July

8 June 2007

Luanda, Angola, 8 June – New licenses for commercial and services activities as well as import licenses in Angola will begin to be issued as of next July, the Minister of Commerce said in Luanda Thursday.

According to Angolan news agency Angop, Minister Joaquim Icuma Muafumba made the announcement during a ceremony for instatement of new Ministry of Commerce officials.

The process of renewal of commercial and services licenses had been expected in December 2006, but was delayed due to the new Law for Commercial Activities failing to be approved.

This is the fourth time that Angola’s commercial licensing has been renewed, the first time being in 1998. (macauhub)
