Changsha, China, 13 June – The 11 provinces and regions of China’s Great Pearl River Delta have agreed to create a webpage to provide information about employment opportunities for migrant workers, according to Wednesday’s edition of the People’s Daily newspaper.
At a five-day meeting the authorities of the Chinese provinces of Guangxi, Yunnan, Guizhou, Sichuan, Hunan, Fujian, Hainan and Jiangxi and the Special Administrative Regions of Macau and Hong Kong also agreed to better protect the well-being of migrant workers.
Currently, the paper said, over 60 million workers from the rural areas of the nine provinces are working in cities and 35 million are working in cities outside their provinces of origin.
The webpage that will be created will provide information on the several regions as well as if their is a lack of labor in a specific city. (macauhub)
