Sonangol and Total start oil production in Angola’s offshore Block 17

Luanda, Angola, 2 July – Angolan state energy firm Sonangol and Total have announced they have begun production in the Rosa field in deepwater Block 17 off the coast of Angola.

In a statement Friday, the companies said the Rosa undertaking, discovered in 1998, had estimated reserves of 370 million barrels. The Girassol production platform in the Rosa field will have an output of 250,000 barrels per day until 2010, added the statement. (macauhub)
