Angolan state airline banned from European air space – official

5 July 2007

Brussels, Belgium, 5 July – TAAG, Angola’s flag flyer, was added Wednesday to a blacklist of airlines by the European Commission and banned from European airspace from Friday due to safety concerns, official sources said.

The decision, which will be announced at the EC daily conference, follows last week’s updated list of banned airlines from the Air Safety Committee, including TAAG which operates regular flights from Luanda to Lisbon

The changes to the list, which includes around 100 airlines, will be put into force Friday, when the European Community journal is published. (macauhub)
