Luanda, Angola, 13 July – Angolan Oil Minister Desiderio Costa has said his country’s petroleum production is set to reach a daily output of 2 million barrels by next year.

Speaking Thursday on a visit to the Luanda International Fair (Filda), Costa said the forecast of boosted oil output was based on investments being made in the sector.

Angola’s oil industry, which was staging its day at Filda together with representatives from countries including Brazil, Germany and France, has as its main players Sonangol, Somoil, BP Angola, Total, Chevron, Statoil, Hidro, Galp Energia and Esso.
