Angolan firm to build temporary expo site in capital

17 July 2007

Luanda, Angola, 17 July – Expo-Angola is to build a temporary site in the southern Luanda district of Talatona to host international trade fairs, media reported.

State news agency Angop cited company sources on Monday as saying that despite no timetable existing for the construction of the new trade fair, the site was being built in Talatona due to the existence of modern infrastructures.

Expo-Angola plans to build a permanent site in the industrial complex of Viana, where infrastructures (roads, sewerage and water systems and power grids) are already fully installed.

The future site of the Luanda International Fair (Filda) will have an exhibition area of 150 hectares, aimed to continue the quality achieved at previous events.

The current Filda premises, in the municipality of Cazenga, have power and water supply problems, difficult road access and poor car parking facilities. (macauhub)
