Over 10,000 vehicles enter Macau daily in first half of year

Macau, China, 1 Aug – More than 1.8 million vehicles, or 10,010 per day, passed through Macau’s land borders in the first six months of the year, an increase of 15 percent in an annual comparison, according to official figures.

Macau’s Directorate of Statistics and Census Services (DSEC) said Tuesday that the Portas do Cerco border point with mainland China registered 82 percent of total vehicle entries into the enclave city in the first half of the year.

In the same period, some 24,407 commercial flights used Macau’s international airport, an increase of 4 percent in a year-on-year comparison. Most of these flights were to Taiwan (44 percent of total) and mainland China (34 percent). (macauhub)
