Angola’s cell phone penetration reaches 22 pct

Luanda, Angola, 6 Aug – More than 3.5 million Angolans now have cell phones, the country’s telecoms regulator has said.

The National Communications Institute (INACOM) , cited Friday by state news agency Angop, said the country’s penetration rate for mobile subscribers was now 22 percent.

Angola Telecom also has 97,340 fixed subscribers, said INACOM.

Angola’s National Statistics Institute says the country’s population is just over 15 million. (macauhub)
