Mozambique launches international tender for dredger

9 August 2007

Maputo, Mozambique, 9 Aug – The Mozambican government will launch an international tender in September for the supply of a dredger to keep shipping channels open in the country’s main ports, an official said.

Government spokesperson Luis Covane said Wednesday that the Maputo government is negotiating with potential partners to help finance the purchase of the dredging vessel.

Mozambique wants to buy a dredger with a 2,500 cubic meter capacity, larger than the ship recently donated by Japan, added Covane. (macauhub)
