Angola’s Sonangol invests US$ 80 million in bottled gas delivery plant

Luanda, Angola, Aug 9 – Angolan state energy company Sonangol is investing US$ 80 million to build storage tanks and a pipeline to supply bottled gas in Kwanza Sul province, media have reported.

The Jornal de Angola newspaper said the project, located in the fishing port of Porto Amboim, is designed to store 100 tons of gas and supply 3,000 bottles daily to the towns of Sumbe, Gabela and other nearby districts.

The new pipeline and storage facility will also have a parking area for delivery trucks and a warehouse. Building work is scheduled to begin in the next month and conclude by the end of the year.

A second phase of the project envisages the enlargement of the gas supply facility with another two tanks to give a total storage capacity of 400 tons. (macauhub)
