Italy supports development projects in Sofala, Mozambique

Beira, Mozambique, 17 Aug – The Italian government has granted Mozambique US$18 million to Mozambique for development projects in Sofala province, the coordinator of Italian cooperation in the province, Luigi Andreotti said in Beira Thursday.

Andreotti said that the funds were aimed at promoting decentralization and economic development.

Beira, the capital of Sofala province, and the districts of Caia, Chemba and Nhamatanda will be the areas to benefit from the Italian aid.

The funds will also be used for a program aimed at providing some schools with educational materials and building classrooms and other educational facilities in Sofala. (macauhub)
