Luanda, Angola, 20 Aug – The oil production, storage and tanker ship known as Grande Plutónio is due to go into production in the third quarter of this year, the president of the business unit of BP Angola, Mary Shafer-Maliki said in Luanda Friday.
Speaking on the sidelines of the opening of BP Angola’s new offices, Shafer-Maliki said survey and exploration work was underway that would culminate with Grande Plutónio going into production in the third quarter of 2007.
The ship, which is the size pf three soccer fields is capable of storing 2 million barrels of oil, processing a maximum of 240,000 barrels per day and treat around 300,000 barrels of water every day.
Angolan oil company Sociedade Nacional de Combustíveis de Angola (Sonangol) and BP Angola in June announced the successful conclusion of the anchorage process of the ship, where it will remain for the next 25 years. (macauhub)
