Sao Paulo, Brazil, 19 Sept – The Brazilian Association of importers and Exporters of Toys and Children’s Products (Abrimpex) and the Brazil-China Chamber for Economic Development (CBCDE) are due to make an agreement on 24 September to boost relations between the countries in the toy sector.
Accoridng to the director of Abrimpex, Eduardo Benevides, the partnership will create new business channels for companies associated to the two bodies.
“In the first half of 2007, imports of toys by Brazil totaled US$110 million, with 76 percent of the total imported from China,” said Benevides.
“But, there was no significant increase in the volume of exported Brazilian toys and we want to improve that,” he said.
The projection is that over the next few months a delegation of Brazilian businesspeople will travel to China to boost the relationship between the countries.
“The associations will also provide support to Brazilian companies in contacts with Chinese companies and the legal processes to carry out business, as well as formal communication of a new image of Chinese products to the public, mainly in relation to quality and safety.” (macauhub)
