Sao Paulo, Brazil, 25 Sept – The Brazilian Association of importers and Exporters of Toys and Children’s Products (Abrimpex) and the Brazil-China Chamber for Economic Development (CBCDE) Monday in Sao Paulo signed a partnership agreement to create new business channels between the two countries in the toy sector.
A delegation of Brazilian businesspeople is due to visit some toy manufacturers in China over the next few months, looking for joint business ventures.
“The Brazilian companies may have control of production, the quality of products and the legal processes to carry out business and, thus, increase competitiveness,” said the business manager of the CBCDE, Titus Liu.
The chairman of Abrimpex, Eduardo Benevides, said he believed that the partnership would boost the relationship between the two markets.
In relation to the restrictions on imports set by the government after problems discovered by toy manufacturer Mattel, Benevides said that sales of toys on International Children’s Day and at Christmas of the year would be affected.
“The consumer will not feel its so much on Children’s Day, but at Christmas there will be price rises and a lack of products on the shelves,” he noted. (macauhub)
