China finances agricultural technology center in Mozambique

Maputo, Mozambique, 27 Sept – The Chinese government has granted a donation of 415 million yuan to Mozambique to support the installation of an agricultural technology center and the reconstruction of several infrastructures destroyed by flooding in the Zambezi valley.

The agreement for the funding was signed Wednesday in Maputo by the Chinese deputy trade minister, Fu Ziying, and by the deputy Mozambican minister for foreign affairs, Eduardo Koloma.

The funding is part of the help provided by the Beijing government to Mozambique over the next two years.

According to Koloma, the agreement signed in Maputo, during the third session of the Joint Commission for Economic, Technical and Commercial Cooperation between the two countries, guarantees Chain’s support in several areas of development.

The meeting was aimed at analyzing cooperation between China and Mozambique and outline working strategies for the 2008/2009 period in the health, education, agriculture, infrastructure and sports sectors, Koloma told the press. (macauhub)
