Lisbon, Portugal, 9 Oct – Lisbon maintained in 2007 its 15th place ranking of the best European cities in which to set up a company, according to a ranking by real estate company Cushman & Wakefield, published Monday.
London tops the list, once again becoming the city preferred by European executives to locate a company, followed by Paris, Frankfurt and Barcelona.
Although the Portuguese capital maintained its position in the ranking, it showed improvements in some areas: ease of access to markets, links to other cities, quality of telecommunications and languages spoken.
Lisbon was considered to be the third best city in terms of the quality-price ratio for office space.
The study by Cushman & Wakefield “European Cities Monitor” is based on interviews with chairmen and directors, responsible for the locations of 500 of Europe’s largest companies.
This study compares the 33 best European locations and their corporate performance. The availability of qualified staff is considered to be the most important factor, followed by communications/transport links and the quality of telecommunications. (macauhub)
